What this checks
Remaining leaf-to-light gap = shelf gap − plant height − fixture thickness − mounting allowance. Horizontal fit compares fixture length and depth with the inside shelf dimensions.
This is a geometric check. It does not confirm biological light coverage, safe mounting, electrical compatibility, ventilation, load capacity or manufacturer clearance requirements. Compare the result with the exact fixture’s documentation.
Keep cord exits and access for watering outside the growing footprint. Recheck when plants grow taller or you change the fixture.
